OPERATIONS DIRECTOR  

Bovelli Bedding sp. z o.o. is a dynamic and growing furniture production company, currently generating €10 million in annual revenue. Our goal is to scale operations efficiently towards double-digit growth in sales while maintaining quality, innovation, and operational excellence. We seek a visionary and results-driven Operations Director to lead this transformation.  Bovelli is a renowned manufacturer of continental beds which has been operating since 2013 and is capital linked to one of the Dutch trading companies operating in the Benelux market.

WHAT ARE WE SEARCHING FOR? 

Position Overview: 

The Operations Director will be responsible for overseeing the entire production process, supply chain management, logistics, and operational efficiency. This individual will drive the company’s growth strategy by optimizing manufacturing processes, reducing costs, improving quality, and ensuring on-time delivery. The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and operational expertise to scale the company sustainably. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and implement operational strategies to scale the company with double-digit growth. 

  • Optimize manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, cost reduction, and increased output. 

  • Oversee supply chain and logistics to ensure seamless procurement and timely deliveries. 

  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and automation to enhance productivity. 

  • Ensure high-quality standards and compliance with industry regulations. 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team. 

  • Work closely with sales, finance, and R&D to align production capabilities with business goals. 

  • Analyze operational data to drive continuous improvement and decision-making. 

  • Manage budgeting and cost control to improve profitability. 

  • Ensure sustainability initiatives and ESG compliance within the production process. 

Scope Limitations (What This Role Does Not Cover): 

  • Sales & Marketing Strategy: While collaboration with sales is essential, the Operations Director will not be responsible for marketing campaigns or sales growth strategy. 

  • Legal & Compliance Outside Operations: The role is responsible for operational compliance, but broader legal matters will be managed by the legal team. 


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): 

  • Revenue Growth: Contribution to scaling revenue within a set timeframe. 

  • Netto profit: Maximizing the profit level of the furniture production industry. 

  • Production Efficiency: Increase production output while reducing waste and costs. 

  • On-Time Delivery Rate: Achieve 98%+ on-time delivery performance. 

  • Cost Reduction: Drive a targeted percentage decrease in production costs annually. 

  • Quality Standards: Maintain a defect rate below 1% 

  • Supply Chain Efficiency: Reduce lead times for raw materials and streamline procurement. 

  • Employee Productivity: Increase overall team productivity and performance metrics. 

  • Customer Satisfaction: Improve customer feedback scores related to product quality and delivery. 

  • Sustainability Metrics: Implement measurable ESG initiatives in operations. 

  • Innovation & Automation: Successfully integrate new technologies to improve operational efficiency. 

 

WHAT DO WE EXPECT? 

Qualifications & Experience: 

  • Proven experience for at least 3 years in an operations Director or similar leadership role within the manufacturing industry. 

  • Strong expertise in scaling operations and implementing lean manufacturing methodologies. 

  • Experience in supply chain management, logistics, and procurement. 

  • Ability to lead large teams and drive organizational changes. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills. 

  • Experience in the furniture industry or related manufacturing sector is a plus. 

  • Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in operations management, Business, Engineering, Industrial Management, Supply Chain, or a related field. 

Skills & Knowledge: 

  • Operational Excellence: Deep understanding of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies. 

  • Native Polish, fluent English in word and writing. 

  • Financial Acumen: Knowledge of budgeting, cost control, and financial forecasting. 

  • Supply Chain & Logistics: Strong expertise in procurement, vendor management, and logistics optimization. 

  • Technology & Automation: Familiarity with ERP systems, production software, and automation technologies. 

  • Strategic Planning: Ability to develop and execute long-term operational strategies. 

  • Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of industry standards, safety regulations, and sustainability initiatives. 

  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Proficiency in data analysis, KPIs, and performance tracking. 

  • Crisis Management: Ability to handle disruptions in supply chain, production, and workforce challenges effectively.
